The famous British chef Jamie Oliver believes that his version of boiled wine is like Christmas in a cup that must not be missed.

– Here are all the Christmas spices that I love, and reminiscent of the holiday. You can try and play with your tastes and will know, advises Jamie.

Preparation Cooked – Boiled Wine :

Pour sugar, rind, and juice from lime pour in a large bowl. Then add all the spices. Pour the wine as it takes to pour the sugar and cook until the mixture becomes like syrup. After ten minutes, add the rest of the wine. Stir and serve.

  • Two bottles of wine (red)
  • Star anise
  • Cloves
  • Caster sugar
  • Bay leaves
  • Oranges
  • One bottle of creme de cassis
  • One nutmeg
  • Cinnamon stick
  • Lemon

Method: it is very easy to make the mulled wine.

Take a pan that is deep. Add the caster sugar and star anise, the cinnamon stick and cloves. Add the bay leaves. Make sure that you wash the car leaves first before adding. After that peel the oranges and add the orange peel into the mixture and onto the bowl. Cut the oranges in halves and strain the juice of the orange into the pan. Add half wine and boil the mixture until it has thickened and reduced to one-third of the whole mixture. Add lemon in it and make sure that it has infused all the fragrance of the spices into the mixture. It should be fragrant. The lemon is added to cut through the richness. Add the rest of the wine, one bottle of creme de cassis and let it simmer lightly for 10 minutes.

The mixture of mUlled wine is ready to be served. Serve it with grated nutmeg and make sure when you serve it, it is hot so that it can soak up the earthy scent of the nutmeg but not enough to overpower the whole taste of the wine. We do not want that. Enjoy.
